Mike Fry
Michael Fry (Mike) is currently serving in a variety of roles at The Fort Church. A native of Princeton, West Virginia, Mike made is way to Tennessee via the University of Tennessee, Knoxville where he graduated with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering in 1991. Following graduation, Mike spent the next eight years as an engineer for two international manufacturing companies; one in Dyersburg, TN and the other in Greer, SC. While Mike was involved in youth group at his home church, Kee Street United Methodist Church, and served as a guitarist in a Gospel quartet, his spiritual journey is very much intertwined with his engineering career.
Mike fully surrendered to Christ in 1996 and gratefully credits First Baptist North Spartanburg Church (now First North) for his early discipleship. In mid-1998, God affirmed Mike’s calling into international ministry. Mike entered Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (SEBTS) for two years, served overseas for three years, and returned to graduate with an MDIV and MS of Intercultural Studies in December 2004. Since then, he served on staff at SEBTS followed by nearly 12 years at Richland Creek Community Church in Wake Forest, NC where he was Missions Pastor for most of his tenure. He then served as Associate Pastor at Pillar Church of Woodlawn in Alexandria, Va., for one year before moving to Kingsport, Tenn., in October 2019.
Mike is a content single who has never married but would joyfully welcome family life in the future. His hobbies and activities involve fellowship with family and friends, playing guitar, hiking, fishing, hunting, and investing. He’s fortunate to have both of his parents, a sister, brother, and wonderful extended family.
